Kaplan and Danielle met in January of 2023—five months after Kaplan moved to Providence for graduate school—when they took Danielle’s Friday morning vinyasa class at West Side Yoga. Reminding them of some of their favorite teachers in St. Louis, Kaplan was hooked. Friday morning yoga with Danielle became a regular part of their new life in Providence—along with Wednesday morning yoga, Sunday morning yoga, and sometimes (when they were feeling fresh), Thursday morning Yoga Sculpt (wild times). But not in a creepy way: a Taurus just likes what they like.

Their brief encounters in the lobby developed into periodic texts back and forth about Rhode Island beaches (about which Danielle is an expert), the pros and cons of various yoga mats, and how unhinged Yoga Sculpt is.

In the summer of 2024, they started grabbing coffee at The Nitro Bar after Wednesday vinyasa—talking about everything under the sun. And Kaplan was like, wow, she’s cute.

At some point, they floated the idea of being More Than Friends™, to which Danielle was like “idk bro.” Thankfully, both of their friends (thx Celeste and Liam), swooped in to save the day. And since a pizza date in November of 2024, they’ve embraced this U-Haul life—writing a little love story here on the west side of Providence.

These days are filled with coffee dates at Reprise PVD, practicing together at Satsang and West Side Yoga, pizza (or Indian food) and Survivor at least once a week, frolics on the beach whenever they have more than three hours to spare, and still talking about everything under the sun.

It’s become such a good life. And we are so grateful to you for sharing in it with us.
